Sex Offender Residency Restrictions

The Village of Waterford has a municipal ordinance regarding residency for registered sex offenders - Code of the Village of Waterford s. 174-7.2 (as revised by Ordinance No. 653) Important elements of the ordinance are listed below, but citizens are encouraged to read the entire ordinance and the list of restricted areas. Citizens are further encouraged to check the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry to stay informed about registered sex offender residencies.
 

Residency Restrictions

Registered sex offenders are restricted from establishing a residence within 750 feet of child-related facilities including:
  • public schools
  • private schools
  • licensed child care providers
  • public parks
  • private parks
  • public libraries

Notification

Registered sex offenders are required to notify local law enforcement officials of their intent to move into an area. Sign up for Notify Me - Sex Offender Residency Notification, if you'd like to receive text of email notifications when the Waterford Police Department is notified.
