Yard Waste

Yard Waste Drop Off Site

Yard waste including leaves and grass clippings can be taken to the Drop Off site from 8:00 PM - 12:00 PM from April through November on alternating Wednesdays and Saturdays (every Saturday in October and November). No permit is required. Bring proof of residency to drop off site.

Brush Chipping and Collection

Limbs from residential yard work are collected and chipped every other Monday during the same week that recyclables are picked up, weather permitting.

Limbs may be no larger than 4” in diameter and must be neatly stacked in piles, with the cut ends facing the curb. Piles should be no larger than four feet high, four feet wide, and eight to ten feet long.  Material should not be placed in the street or block the sidewalk. No leaves, grass clippings or yard waste will be chipped. These may be brought to the drop-off site. No commercially cut wood will be collected.

Open Burning

Open burning of leaves, brush, stumps, clean wood, and other vegetative debris is allowed within the Village of Waterford between the hours of Noon and 7:00 pm. Grass clippings are not included in the list of allowable yard waste for burning. Grass clippings must be recycled and can be taken to the Yard Waste Drop Off site during collection hours. Burning sites must be tended at all times. In the event of weather or other conditions that may affect safe burning, the fire chief may issue a burning ban.
